Le Printemps des Artistes – PDA

First established in 2006, Printemps des Artistes is an annual charitable event organised by Istanbul Accueil with our partner Saint Pulcherie Lisesi in their Od’A Art Gallery.
This art event takes place in the springtime.
The aim is twofold : unveiling new artists (turkish and international)  to the public, and raising funds  for carefully selected charity initiatives. Over the years, this exhibition has become a recognised cultural meeting-point for both the French speaking and international expatriate communities as      well as all art lovers throughout Istanbul.

A charitable event

All art works exhibited are for sale. As usual 30% of the proceeds are to be generously donated by the artists to the pre-selected charities. This year’s selection : PAYDA, YUSRA and LAPE.
The remaining 70% is retained by the artists.
All other expenses are covered through sponsorship in order to maximise the funds raised.

For the 13th edition of the Printemps des Artistes, we have selected 10 artists amongst which 7 are painters, 1 sculptor and 2 photographers.

An exhibition for charities

All exhibited artworks are for sale and 30% of the proceeds will be donated to three charities, the Lape Hospital, Payda, Yusra Community Center. Sainte Pulchérie school is an important partner and support to the PDA ( hosting the exhibition at its art gallery, helping with the organization and financing of the exhibition’s opening night (vernissage)). All Exhibition expenses are normally covered by sponsors in order to reserve the maximum amount of funds for the selected charities. .

L’Hôpital de LAPE (Fransız Lape Hastanesi)

Lape Hospital has been operating in Istanbul since 1857. The hospital was donated to the Sisters of Saint Vincent in 1902 by Sultan Abdul Hamid II. Its main purpose is to treat patients with psychiatric disorders. It is still run by the Sisters of Charity.
Sainte Pulchérie was also founded by the Sisters of Charity in 1864. Their association serves as an obvious purpose for Sainte Pulcherie to support this project.

Payda, a non-governmental organization, launched the “Stakeholder (PÖB)” Project in April 2012 with the aim of supporting the education of female students facing difficulties in continuing their education due to lack of financial means and academic support.
Currently implemented in Mardin, Batman, İstanbul and Nevşehir and based on a modular management system of one to one communication between students and families, students are supported for a minimum of 7 to 14 years. This permits Payda to follow and support their changing needs as they move through elementary school, high school and university and on to a career.

Set up in April 2016 for refugee families in Balat neighbourhood of Istanbul, Yusra is a resources centre and learning space aiding women and children who otherwise have no access to information nor to vocational training. It also serves as a recreational space with programs designed to provide educational, social and recreational enrichment.
Services include language classes for children ( permitting an eventual integration of 3-6yrs olds into local turkish schools), kindergarten and afterschool programs, help with school outfits and stationary and educational outings. Other services include health check-ups for the women, community events for families, information workshops for the community, income generation programs for women (ex: workshops) and psycho-social support for families.

Our sponsors

For the 13th consecutive year, the Printemps des Artistes is taking place thanks to the partnership between Istanbul Accueil and the Sainte-Pulcherie school who has graciously lent its Art Gallery for the exhibition. The school also helps with its overall organisation and the financing of the opening night.

This event wouldn’t exist without the support of our generous sponsors:
